Guessing on the Real Estate Exam

Check your state's exam rules before you run with this information. Most real estate exams do not penalize you for wrong answers. We've all seen people who just seem to be good at taking tests. It could be because they're smart, but many just know a few techniques that will help you in your real estate exam session.

Let's take an example real estate exam multiple choice question with five possible answers. You begin with a 20% Chance of a correct guess. But, most questions have a couple of obviously incorrect answers at first reading. Eliminating two, we are left with a 33% chance, or one out of three.

At this point, all you have to do is rule out one more to increase your odds to 50/50. If this exercise is required, we suggest that you skip the question on the first pass. Get all the easy ones completed and then come back. The point is that, if wrong answers are not counted against you, then answer every question if there is time.
